Writer Agatha Christie: Murder and mystery

The Forum

CHAPTER

Agatha Christie

Caroline Christie disappeared in 1926 and was found two weeks later. No one knows what happened between the time she crashed her car and turning up in Harrogate. The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie became a best-selling novel, inspiring other writers to write murder mysteries. Mark Ferris says he always hoped there would be an envelope passed down through the family which would explain everything but doesn't think it will ever happen. James believes that we don't need to circle back to this topic all the time because Agatha Christie is more sympathetic than most people realise.
