The Importance of Curiosity in Politics

I would bet big that there are a lot of kids out there who would benefit from being told, look, have the courage of your convictions. So you can't be arrogant and curious at the same time. That's my pitch for getting more people to sign up for your million man army. Because if the country just becomes in a really, really, really fundamental way, a bit more curious and a bit less certain, might we not also become a bit more skeptical of people who talk in a crisp, well-modulated baritone about the certainty of two trillion universes?
