I imagine that Obama before and after becoming president has a lot of parallels to being become a parent. He had these ideals and then he becomes president's president and they all kind of become secondary to one thing, which is ensure the safety of my citizens. By the way, I'm thinking about the Amish too, as to who have their roots in the Anabaptists. You could make a decent argument that the Amish are the America's greatest free writers. Because if it weren't for our government and our military, they would get wiped out in a second. It's only possible to be pacifists when you have somebody else doing your defending.
