Foreshadowing in Night Books
Night books have this whole tension, an its weaved into tension and satisfaction in the story over all. And my favorite part is realizing that, you know, it seems like a logical conclusion, she must have escaped if she didn't write more. There were places where the bookstores had shelved it with thrillers, yet, instead of with something that's in our its in context, oh, this is probably supernatural as well.
