Doing a Post-Stock in Mathematics?

When you are doing a post stock in mathematics, what are you doing? What work are you doing and who for and to what end? There are two types of postal ships. So that so they've got a big project, and they might have you helping with grant work or asi projects. And there's fellowships that essentially say, ok, you write the project, here's a bunch of money. Go work on this project for the next however many years.
