The Alamein Line Is Interesting, You Know, It's All Facts Has It
Eight armies lost 50% of their fighting strength during the Second World War. The Alamein line is interesting because it's got this guitar depression. When you drive from Cairo or from Alex down the road to the Alamein position, what you're seeing is just desert. But when you get onto these ridges, though, it's not very much at all - it's stony ground again.
