The FAA Launches Rulemaking Process to Extend Cockpit Voice Recorder Time Limit

The FAA is launching a rulemaking process to extend the cockpit voice recorder time limit or loop time from two hours to 25 hours. They're also establishing an aviation rulemaking committee to explore how to make greater use of the data gathered by the airplane and its systems. None of it's good to explain why they're letting airlines wave 10% of their slots for the summer in the New York and DCA area.
