Researchers at texas christian university and university rochester ran a study on this form the degarning effect. Subjects were given eight minutes to shape an eight cube, three dimensional puzzle into five different forms. Of the six who completed the difficult puzzle, only one resumed working on the puzzles for just one minute and 18 seconds.
