The Chinese Perception of Extinction Risk
I don't get the impression that extinction risk is presently a big deal in China. I'm worried about what happens if they think it's some kind of weird US plot or something like that. It would not be in their interest to break up an international regime meant to prevent them and everyone else from dying. The US has laws against exporting AI chips to China, so Nvidia made them half as powerful and sold them to China anyways. But my hope would be that you can offer China some face and have the multilateral symmetrical international agreement where nobody is building AIs of unknown power levels.
