Turning Kefale on Its Head
In Ephesians 5, Paul says that the husband is the head of the wife. The word Kefale means "head" or "ch chip," and it's used as a metaphor in ancient literature. But when you look at how Paul uses the metaphor, he actually does the very opposite: He doesn't give the head privileges but instead sacrifices himself for his wife.
