I want to thank my listeners for all their great comments to the question that i posed. Why does the church historian feel l d s church members need to be protected from their own history? It's really not what he feels is faith promoting. It's what his client, the church of jesus christ of latter day saints,. i e, the c 15 i e church leaders, feel are faith promoting. I hope that elder mackay is happy and fulfilled in the path that he has taken. This is really a significant accomplishment on his part to be appointed church historian after becoming a general authority three years ago.
