Title 42 and the Pandemic Emergency
Prior to the pandemic, U.S. law stated that if you fled to this country, seeking asylum because of fear of persecution and these other things, you could reside in the United States during the process of investigating your asylum claim. But Title 42 during the pandemic basically said, if you're seeking asylum, you have to wait outside the U.S., before we will allow you in. The administration has now declared that the pandemic emergency is officially over, which meant you can't keep Title 42 as it's a pandemic dependent policy.
