The Cost of Doing Business in the Real Estate Industry

There's probably a subset of society that doesn't consider inefficiency in the construction industry to be broken, right? You have a perspective that is out there that it's good for the real estate industry to be unproductive because I don't want somebody building in my community or developers are greedy and evil. We shouldn't empower them. But my initial reaction to this framing is that it actually empowers bigger and more corporate developers and builders Because it creates this level of risk that increases the barrier to entry. So when that happens, you don't have small scale developers, people locally in your community that can actually contribute directly to the built environment and invest in the built environment.
