LZ Granderson: What did you hear in the reactions to the workshop from white folks who were there as participants, Catherine and Dan? LZ: With Catherine, I understand what she's struggling with. She just got all that knowledge dropped on her by Dina H. Green. "I don't know if it's worth our energy as black and brown people to drag folks kicking and screaming to acknowledge some of these basic facts," he says. 'This means you have to find a new way to be in the world' lz: But then Dan sits through that session and apparently is completely unmoved.
