Is Active Record a Good Idea for Functional Programming?

Rails is a lot of stuff borrowed from Ruby too, right? So it's not like it's this very bad thing. Active records still has a nice place in my heart. But when I move on to functional programming, like, that's kind of like I get a little sad when people are like, oh, this looks like active record. And I'm like, I don't want to make active record. It's not like active record."
