What's Happening to Cetaceans in the Black Sea?
The number of dead cetaceans washing up on the Romanian coast has nearly doubled in a year. Scientists suspect that it is the use of sonar by military submarines, and that disturbs dolphins and porpoises because that's how they navigate. They can't get themselves back out again after getting into shallower waters. Navy's don't particularly want to give all the details of how their sonar operates as that could give an advantage to any future opponents.
