A Memoir in Essays
For eight years I had this kind of almost dirty secret, bubbling away. It was much messier and less plotted than that. There was no sense, no argument. And it came together at the end quite, quite quickly. That's why I call it a memoir in essays. So it was really nice to hear you say you thought it was a good book, a lovely book.I like its raggedness, but it's certainly not as shapely as a novel.
