Stephanie Coontz: Homelessness is mostly a policy choice. It's not a capacity choice, it's about sottte visible street. You can move people off the yo, can rect adequate shelteror there were lots of o ther countryes that succeeded this very effectively. But then n turn, you that sort of a compounding effect for then when public spaces kind of ar ar are hollowed out, you just get more and more people withdrawing. And so you get this kind of pyper atomization and individualism.
