Did the Germans Really Develop a Bomb?
Norwegian commandos sank a German ship carrying heavy water in the lake of Tromsø. It was thought that this would have halted production of nuclear weapons for years to come. If it had not, who knows how the second world war would have ended? There is considerable controversy about just how far along the german programme was. The real issue is what was in people's minds at the time.
