Salvador Dali was expelled from the surrealist movement because of his success in America. In 1953 he wrote: "The one thing the world will never have enough of is exaggeration" He started as a lonely boy in Spain, lost his mother at 17 and had a family history of schizophrenia. But through his own creative vision became one of the most successful artists of all time.
