Case 174: Vicki Arnold & Julie-Anne Leahy
Casefile True Crime
Atherton, Queensland - A Woman's Story
A full-scale ground and air search ensued for several days. The women's families were certain they hadn't just taken off. Vicky was a reliable employee who kept to a regular routine. It wasn't in her character to run away on a spontaneous adventure. Two weeks later, at around 4pm on Friday, August 9, five teenagers wound their way through a remote area of the Herbatin Range - 15km southwest of Vathitan. As the teens sped through an area called Cherry Tree Creek, along a bulldozed bush track that was almost 1km long, they spotted something up ahead. This had never happened before. Police were both baffled and daunted by the situation.
