The Birth of Jesus
There's certainly a contrast going on here in these chapters. Isn't there between Herod the mighty king who is unable to kill this no count bay from nowhere's ville? And then the responses of the different people in this chapter to the birth of this newborn king, you have Herod who hates this king. You have the chief priests and the scribes who are indifferent, but then you have the Gentiles who come to worship this king. It should never cease to amaze us and prompt us to be ready to worship and to respond in love to the Lord Jesus. Amen.
