The economy apparently grew at 2.4 percent in the second quarter, according to the Wall Street Journal. The Fed did act to raise its benchmark interest rate to a 22 year high on Wednesday and chief and chair Jerome Powell did not rule out another increase. Economists, however, are dialing back the recession expectations after many had projected that a downturn would start in the middle of the year due to federal reserve policy.
