The Effects of Touch on Behavior
Studies show that subtle forms of touch, like when a member of waiting staff just taps you on the arm when they give you the bill, can have incredibly powerful effects. There's also examples, even for instance, in care homes, where if you gently touch them while they do that encouragement, they're more likely to eat more food. And this just really goes back to the fact that touch exerts an incredibly powerful but often subtle effect on our behavior. We don't stop and think about these very simple things.
