The History of the Louvre
The director of the louvre himself was an extremely arishmatic man, jacques jojard he was really an incredible leader. He managed to finess his way through this very oppressive and complicated german system. And you really do find these stories of individuals putting the safety of these works of art ahead of their own safety. So there ware so many stories of individual leadership during this crisis that fascinated me as i was putting together my research for my historical novel, the stolen lady.
