The Degree of Corroboration of a Theory Is an Evaluation of the Results of Empirical Tests

Carl Popper gives his views on corroboration in the form of seven points. He says that there are two ways of looking at relations between a theory and experience one may look for confirmation or for refutation. The difference between attempted confirmations and attempted refutations or tests is largely though not completely amenable to logical analysis, he writes. Popa concludes by saying we exert ourselves in testing an theory which cannot be formalized but can say what actually happens anyway.
