The goal column itself is an illusion. We're making a deal with his symptoms. Don't tell everyone. Yeah I shouldn't. Because you see what we put him in control and say you don't have to give rid of these symptoms completely. You can save face. Your subconscious resistance can save face and only lower it to a certain level. But then once we get into the methods part of the section and we start blowing his negative thoughts out of the water it's very likely that his goals will then change and he may overshoot right exactly his goals. That if we can side with the voice of the resistance it actually encourages the patient to step on the other side and argue for change
