The Season of Fruitlessness and Barrenness

The theme of fruitlessness and barrenness is actually found throughout the scriptures. Unless we assume that difficult and fruitless seasons are always the result of sin or of not trying hard enough, we read of many prophets and many righteous followers of God who face this in their life. We need to bring the reality of our situation before the Lord, acknowledge it for what it is. And so instead of minimizing or denying these seasons in our lives, we must choose instead to learn what prayer and obedience looks like in a season of fruitlessness  and a season of waiting.
