Seed and Cutting Compost
It is better to use a seed compost. Good ones have a finer mill grade as well so the actual compost is finer which is particularly important for some of the finer seeds. With peat-free compost sometimes when once the seeds have germinated you might need to start liquid feeding a little bit earlier than you would have done with a peat-based compost. Don't wait until the seedlings or your cuttings are looking starving. Just start feeding alittle bit earlier usually when they've got their first true leaves actually is a good rule of thumb.
