The Effect of Gravity on the Earth

Centrifical force is causing the atmosphere to move. As you go higher and higher, you're getting further away from the center of mass in radius. Therefore, it's going to be dragged behind you to fluid mechanics like a blender. The outside of the edge actually eventually catches up over a period of time with the rotation of the inside because of your transferring force from the center to the outside.
