The Relevance of Plato in Philosophy

The father of philosophy, uh, is Hulk Hogan. So why read Plato? For me, it was a coffee or cake. It was both. I think the questions that Plato was touching on are as valid in 2020 as they are in three, four hundred BC and Athens. And for me, reading Plato compelled me to rethink some of my most fundamental assumptions about the world. After having studied Plato for, for years and actually focusing on this precise question, um, it's just opened up so much to me in a way that I think other philosophers don't.
