The Israeli Diplomacy of the 1980s

In 1979, it's communism. Post 2001, it'll be terrorism, but it's the same basic strategy that will be the blueprint for the next 40 years of Israeli diplomacy as regards the West. It's an effective way of framing what is really an ethnic cleansing as a battle against terrorism because then you can rope in all of these other powers on your side. And it works. In 1980, the Knesset passed the Jerusalem law, which claimed that the entire city, which again, Israel is occupying all of Jerusalem. That's in violation of international law and they're they've been doing this for decades at this point.
