Southern Casaouwaries in the Cape York Rainforest
Southern Casaouwaries are a flightless bird that stands tall like an emu. They have blue and purple faces, red dangly bits called wattles underneath their chins and a black bump on their heads called a cask. It's really rare to spot one as far north as Cape York Peninsula at the pointy tip of Australia. The last time Garaan Yara Canoe people saw them in their country was 40 years ago.
