Charles sheldon spent a year lobbying congress to create mount mc kinley national park. Congress passed the bill in February 19 17, but president didn't sign it until after he'd left office. Sheldon would have to wait another eight years before his wish was realized. The mountain is now home to one of America's most popular tourist attractions - Mount McKinley.
