The Importance of Stretching

In order to be able to cross borders using Julia Anseldua's term do other people's terms who have had that experience of the poorest border that we have in this nation in the southwest you have to stretch. You have to put yourself in a situation where you understand more than what you learned at home or what you learned from academic setting and most people are afraid to take that risk. If you want to say something that makes some sense about whatever art form or even something that's not an art form says like a social problem that's affecting people in your very own neighborhood or sitting or community you also have to be willing to be vulnerable.
