Women in Greco-Roman Religion

Greco-Roman religion was about propitiating the gods, right? And so you had to do the ritual correctly. So there were some cults that had priestesses and they were trained on how to manage the festival rights. You also had festivals that were mainly women who participated - sometimes ecstatic. They would go out of the towns and to the hillsides and they were respected by those not part of that group. But that's really what pagan religion Greco-Roman, you know, non-Jewish religion was like.
