I think our ego drives us in the beginning. I think that's pretty natural. But at some point you have to transcend the ego and get in touch with your true self. The metaphor that my wife and i talked about at dinner that night was, inside of each of us, there is a golden buddha. There's a golden essence. Ther's a christ consciousness, whatever you want to call it. And yet it's covered up with the clay of our cond ing,. Our cultural conditioning that makes some people races and make some people not. It's just the conditioning you got growing up ad at some point we're responsible for removing the clay and getting back to the original essence
