Dean Obeidallah: We have to remember what happens if you just have an intervention in one place and don't look at things systematically. He says COVID didn't change the situation for garment factory workers, but it was used as an excuse to quote unquote cancel orders. When brands cancel orders, he says, they're exercising a contractual right that they have written into these contracts. The supply chain is really, we think of it as a kind of a linear chain sometimes when people talk about it,. But in fact, it's a much more convoluted network of actors, organizations, practices which move a product from the sourcing of raw materials all the way to where meets the end user
