The Problem With Identity Politics
I think that identity is something that comes into being and mutates. And we treat in psychoanalysis as something dialectical. We don't aim to reinforce people's identity, or to build an identity. If anything, if anything, psycho analysis deconstructs or unravels identity. It enables people to think of the different, competing, contradictory identities that they have in an ine inne tats rit.
