In 2005, Bain asked senior executives how many of them were creating a superior experience for their customers. Four out of five raised their hand and they're like, yep, check the box. For 8 percent of that 72 percent gap, it was simply a failure to design. The third reason was by far the biggest: A failure to develop the capability to continuously renew the experience.
