Nietzsche's Thesis on the Citadel and Secrecy

In section 26, quote, every choice human being strives instinctively for a citadel and a secrecy where he is safe from the crowd. Anyone who intercourse with men does not occasionally glisten in all the colors of distress, green and gray with disgust, satiety, sympathy, gloominess, and loneliness is certainly not a man of elevated tastes. And so it's funny that Nietzsche uses the same language to describe Sarah Thestrand as an exceptional person. He would go down and above all, he would go inside, end quote. It's inside in quotes, I think the meaning there is pretty clear inside as in look internally.
