The Benefits of Fasting Mimicking Diet in Rodents
The majority, if not maybe all of the studies on rodents and fasting are the equivalent of basically long extended fasting in humans. A 24-hour fast in a rodent is likely equal to a five-day fast feed cycle in humans. That's because a rat will actually die of starvation after 48 to 60 hours. Like it will die compared to a human that can go 57 to 73 days of fasting before dying.
