I defend critical race theory. Defend it to the tenth degree. Why? Because i believe in freedom of thinking. I believe in free teaching and listening. And i want critical race theory to be available to people, even though in certain dimensions i disagree with it very strongly. But we need to defend intellectual pluralism. And i think some people in critical race theory have not been as attentive to the importance of the defence of intellectual pluralism as they ought to have been. Two weeks ago, i shared my thoughts about the upcoming elections in hungary and in france. It now appears that i may have been overly optimistic. We are a last minute search, a nasty october surprise
