The Current State of Israel's Judiciary

In a democracy, you are supposed to have checks and balances. Israeli democracy doesn't really have a written constitution as such. Israel has basic laws which operate in unison as a semi-constitution. Supreme Court has interpreted this and it has set the precedence. The judiciary is still operating based on the basic laws,. But the polity has shifted to the extreme right. So I think this is the bedrock of the current detention.
