Claudia Golden is a Harvard-based economic historian and author of Career and Family. She has identified five phases of change in women's lives over the past century or so. The first achieved family then career from around 1900 to 1919, before and during the Great War. Second was transitional group that graduated in the interwar period including the war from around 1920 to 1945,. Third which had family then job, rarely career. And last but most recent are mothers of baby boom who graduated college from like 1946 to 1965.
