The Homotopy Group of the Coffee Cup
The continuity in a topological sense is determined on homotopy classes and like equivalences between whether you can deform one curve or path into another. So there's actually two holes in the homological sense rather than one hole in a donut because of these different ways of cutting it. The algebraic relationship to the topology is actually related to how many generators you have, generators and relations. It reminded me of what Delos starts off in chapter one talking about where he says, it is a poor recipe for producing monsters to accumulate heteroclate determinations.
