They lied and told people that the reason norma did not have an abortion was that she needed to carry her pregnancy so that she would have standing in the eyes of the court. That's not true, both from a what actually happened perspective, nor is it true from a legal perspective. She but that is what she said. And so the fact that there was something wrong about what they were doing was clear to everyone.
