Is Your Elephant a Political Tribe?
"I like to call this epistemological humility, the notion that I don't know everything," he says. "If your elephant is all about cohearing with the group and buying into what your group says, it's not going to care about the objective world outside of it." He adds: "So the question becomes, how does that subjective part of me interact with the world? And if you have an elephant whose values have been reordered, so that there's things that are more valuable to you, for example, than fitting in with a political tribe?"
