For the month of September we will be releasing episodes that focused in Appalachia. In this episode, we explore the terrifying and tragic history of the Weston State Hospital, also known as Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum in Weston, West Virginia. Weston State Hospital was once home to thousands of mentally ill patients. Many suffered from harsh conditions due to the overcrowding and brutal treatments. It is no surprise that it is said to be haunted by spirits of the mistreated patients as well! Join us as we discuss the stories of Weston State Hospital during the Civil War, madness, and the spirits who still linger there.
