The calorie burn from neat is actually pretty significant. Even a bodyweight reduction of 10%, they've observed a decrease in neat of almost 500 calories a day for a 10% reduction in bodyweight. You also do get a decline in BMR when you lose weight, one, because you're just in a smaller body now and so it takes less energy to locomote. There's what's called metabolic adaptation, which is a further reduction in your BMR than expected from the loss of body mass. And that's on average, usually around like 15%. But it does seem to be, there's new evidence coming out on the metabolic adaptation from BMR.
